What is ‘Uftara’: Actually ‘Uttarakhand Film, Television and Radio Association’ is the subtle name of ‘Uftara’. The name ‘Uftara’ is nice to call with being subtle. In this, the word ‘Tara’ makes one feel the glory of twinkling stars in the sky or being distinguished as a star (A.J.).
The identity of any country, state or region is known from the folk language, folk culture, dress, food and customs. Geet music, television, radio, new media and film education are the most powerful means of accessing anything on the world stage. For the purpose of strengthening the folk language, folk culture, entertainment of the newly created Uttarakhand region and the rights of the people involved in this work, some of us, in the year 2011, started an organization called ‘Uttarakhand Film, Television and Radio Association’. Which was registered on 07-12-2011 under Societies Registration Act 1860.
Objectives of UFTARA
To disseminate the public folk language, folk story, folk tale, folk culture of Uttarakhand through film, television, radio and current digital broadcasting. To organize workshop of entire film and television program production, folk culture, folk instruments and plays. Organizing and raising voices in a constitutional manner to protect the rights and interests of artists and employees associated with every discipline of film, television, radio, folk culture and folk literature. To awaken the public from time to time by taking out songs, movies or cultural instruments against timely public problems, corruption and ostentation. Honoring and supporting worthy talents.
Means of income of UFTARA
- Subscription fee.
- Receiving donations from members and society from time to time.

- Receipt of some part of the proceeds from the production or sale of movies or albums in the form of donations
